A god trapped out side of time…
In every medium, in every art form there comes a time when a sacred monster is given birth by Man. Both by those who believe in it and those who don’t. In motion picture I call it “Citizen Kane” while in comic book world I call it “Watchmen”. It has nothing to do with liking it but with acknowledging it’s existence. And now it is done, the monster has barred a child. Is it still a monster? Will it fit into any of the worlds from which it originated? Will it even be recognized by them or rejected like a failed experiment?I believe that like most half-breeds it will be recived with both praise and hate but especially hate. Praise by those who wish to praise but themselves. Hate by those who hate beforehand. I see it becoming a symbol for a fever that has no real chance of survival but to evolve into something completely different. Perhaps a name to be quoted as a bridge in some introduction to something else. But what of the monster in itself, who is he really? I see him like a hard working chap that despite the long quarrels with both sides of the family has turned out to be more of his father’s son then ever thought possible. The same principles of being stand in both child and parent, the same nature. And that nature is a series of questions that together form something more than a question. Together and without a single answer the conjugation of all those questions gives birth to an idea, and when that idea is molded by human hands into something real, art is born. The question is the soul of art, and the son shares the soul of the father.
